Eek. One ‘Walking Dead’ fan took her obsession with the show WAY too far, and after being charged with stalking actor Daniel May and his wife… she was sentenced to a decade of jail time.
Daniel May may have only had a very small role on The Walking Dead‘s third season back in 2013, but it was enough to get fangirl Kathryn Boykin, 25, in a whole lot of trouble. The actor and his wife, Rachel May, became terrified when Kathryn intense interest in his work amplified once he was cast on the hit TV series, which eventually led to her being sentenced to 10 years in prison for stalking.
Well, this is awkward. My fellow walkers, do you remember Allen from season 3? He was a part of Tyreese’s group that Carl finds in the prison. Unfortunately he later turns out to be a total turncoat who ends up leaving the prison for Woodbury and working for The Governor, which leads to his untimely death.
Apparently, his small arc on the show got one fan so riled up that she felt the need to stalk his every waking moment. That fan is Kathryn Boykin, and she has reportedly been arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison, reports Project Casting.
Kathryn allegedly started by harassing Daniel and his wife, Rachel, by creating a number of different social media accounts. Many of the things she posted about seemed like “conspiracy theories,” and she even claimed that Daniel and Rachel had planted cameras in her home and were poisoning her daily. That’s when the couple finally filed for a restraining order.
That piece of paper didn’t last very long though. Kathryn was quick to violate the order, and was caught standing outside their theater holding up a bizarre sign that read: “Shut Down Synchronicity.” This violation of the restraining order finally allowed the Mays to take serious action, and not only was Kathryn found guilty but she is now in jail for 10 years. Bye!
Hopefully Daniel and Rachel can now have some peace of mind with Kathryn behind bars.
