If there’s one thing that makes Liam mad, it’s people misunderstanding the friendships in the band. “I think that (fans bringing pride flags to the show) was mainly because people think the Louis and Harry thing (that they’re secret lovers), which is absolutely nuts and drives me insane,” the 22-year-old explained to Attitude magazine. The guys have worked together and have been good friends for five long years. It’s somewhat normal for fans to ship their favorite friendship between two members in a band, but it’s the romantic rumors that irritate Liam.

The songwriter could not stress enough about how untrue the romantic rumors were. “It’s like, when you know the ins and outs of what is going on with people and it’s just annoying when it’s so stupid,” the 22-year-old said. “It becomes like a conspiracy or like a cult, the people who watch them and think that every move they make is a gesture toward them being together, and I know it’s just not true and it makes me mad.”

Liam Explains The Origin Of The ‘Larry’ Rumors

Apparently ‘Larry’ was just an inside joke between the band members before it became a huge deal. “I think it was when Louis and Harry started living together. The thing is, we as a band mess around with each other,” Liam explained. “There are certain terms and phrases that we use that we all think are funny that people misunderstand. It’s so funny to be on the inside of it because you know what’s what and then you hear all these crazy theories.”

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you going to stop shipping ‘Larry’ now that Liam has set the record straight?
