If you haven’t gotten a chance to see Britney Spears in Las Vegas yet — it’s not too late! The singer announced she’ll be extending her residency at Planet Hollywood for TWO more years…and she’s super excited about it!
We are SO stoked about this news! Britney Spears is sticking around Las Vegas for at least two more years, because she’s just extended her residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood. Watch her excitedly announce the news to her audience on Sept. 9 right here!
During one portion of the show, the 33-year-old — whose latest album you can buy here — always has her fans count to three, but during the Sept. 9 show, she changed it up. “Okay, I have some big news tonight!” she teased. “Usually I have you guys help me count to three, but tonight, I’m going to have you count to two, because I’m going to be in Vegas for TWO MORE YEARS!” After making the big reveal, she couldn’t stop herself from giddily jumping around. “I’m just not ready to leave Vegas yet!” she told E! News. “And I just really, really love this show and this city. I’m so proud of the show and my band, my dancers, and my crew have all become such a family to me. When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn’t imagine ending my residency at the end of this year.
And there will be some exciting things to look forward to next year! “I definitely have some major changes planned,” she admitted. “I’m getting together with my team this week to go over the set its, design some new costumes and dream up new props. There are a few new songs that are fan favorites that I really want to add to the show. It’s very exciting! If you haven’t seen the current show yet, you should come out before the end of the year.”
Before Brit actually landed the residency, she had been rumored to be getting the gig for two years. Finally, she confirmed the news in Sept. 2013 on Good Morning America, and the first show kicked off on Dec. 27, 2013. Time flies!
