America, meet your final five finalists! The votes are in and only five of the 11 semi-finalists from this week’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ are moving on to next week’s finals — and we’ve got the full recap of the Sept. 9 episode. Find out who made the cut!
Ten acts will compete in the finals of America’s Got Talent on Sept. 15, but with five acts already through, only five spots were left after the second night of semi-finals on Sept. 8. Find out which six contestants were sent home in the heartbreaking results show!
Before getting into the results, we got an update from Uzeyer Novruzov, who seemed to be in a much better place than last night after his devastating fall. To kick things off, Nick Cannon called Uzeyer, Freelusion Dance Group and Gary Vider as the first three acts in jeopardy, banking on the Dunkin’ Save from America to hopefully move on. We’ll get back to that later in the show!
Next, Nick called rock group 3 Shades Of Blue and singer Daniella Moss front and center, and the first act to go through was — NEITHER OF THEM?! What!!!!!? Nick, how could you do that to us? That was so cruel! Right off the bat, we had two judge-favored acts heading home.
The next contestants to receive their fate were 13-year-old mariachi singer Alondra Santos and magician Piff the Magic Dragon…and Piff is moving on! Seriously, after Piff’s AMAZING tricks on last night’s show, we aren’t surprised, but, obviously, we’re sad to see Alondra go home.
After an epic performance from the ladies of Little Mix, who sang while former AGT finalist AcroArmy put on an incredible routine, it was back to more results. The next act through to the finals was The Regurgitator! But sadly, that means Alicia Michilli was sent home, despite giving a practically flawless performance last night. After that result, Sharon Irving and Paul Zerdin were left on stage, and the next contestant declared safe was Paul, sending powerhouse singer Sharon packing.
Now, the moment we’ve really been waiting for — which acts in jeopardy will be saved?! With America’s vote in the Dunkin’ save, it was SHOCKINGLY Uzeyer who moved on! Clearly, the viewers felt so bad for him after the tragic fall he had this week, and were willing to give him another shot. He’ll have to REALLY bring it in the finals!
Finally, the judges got to decide between Gary and Freelusion to decide the tenth and final finalist. Heidi Klum chose Freelusion, Howie Mandel chose Gary, Mel B. went with Freelusion and Howard Stern opted for Gary, meaning the results went to a tiebreaker, and the finalist was chosen by who had more votes from America — and it’s Gary!
This week’s five new finalists (Piff, Gary, The Regurgitator, Uzemeyer and Paul) will join Magician Derek Hughes, Comedian Drew Lynch, Music Duo The CraigLewis Band, Mentalist Oz Pearlmann and singer Benton Blunt in the finals. Make sure to tune in at 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to see what they all bring to their final round of competition!
HollywoodLifers, do you think the right decisions were made on AGT? Who do YOU think is going to win it all?
