Hair trends (like the slicked back, wet look) come and go, but a classic curl never goes out of style. Whether loose and undone or tight and defined is more your speed, there’s a new tool to get whatever curly hairstyle you can dream up.
When it comes to curls, there are certain celebs like Kate Hudson‘s bedhead looks and Gigi Hadid‘s bombshell locks that immediately come to mind when you’re talking the gold star of wavy styles. The master behind these heads of hair (and more), Harry Josh, spilled his styling secrets to US Weekly — and it seems you really only need one soon-to-be-released curling iron and Harry’s techniques, below!
Textured Waves: To get Gigi’s various degrees of textured waves, use the Harry Josh Pro Tools 2-in-1 Ceramic Marcel Curling Iron (available in September on dermstore.com) and alternate how long you hold your hair on the iron. Work with 3-inch sections, switching up between heating the sections for five and three-second intervals.
Better-Than-Bedhead: Kate’s got the whole California-beachy-bedhead thing down to a science — her blonde waves never seem to be styled, yet they’re always perfectly sleek. To get her look, Harry told US Weekly the secret is to curl 2-inch sections for five seconds, then pull the curl by the ends with your fingers for about 10 seconds for a more natural finish.

Defined Curls: If a defined style is more your thing, Harry created classic curls for actress Taylor Schilling by first prepping damp hair with John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Mousse. Once you’ve blown your hair dry, curl 1-inch sections of hair away from the face at a 45-degree angle for up to 15 seconds.
