Eek! Robert Pattinson was supposed to attend the Venice Film Festival to promote his new film, but he reportedly backed out at the last minute to avoid a run in with ex girlfriend, Kristen Stewart!
Apparently there’s still some seriously bad blood between Robert Pattinson, 29, and Kristen Stewart, 25. The former Twilight costars, who very publicly dated (and very publicly broke up), were both scheduled to appear at this year’s Venice Film Festival on Sept. 7, Kristen to promote Equals, while Rob was set to promote The Childhood of a Leader. But, as it turns out, Rob was a total no-show at the event, and it was reportedly all because he didn’t want to see Kristen!
Rob chalked up his absence to a busy schedule, saying he got tied up in Ireland filming his new film The Lost City of Z, however, that might have just been a convenient excuse. “He didn’t want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other,” a source told the New York Post. “Venice is very small…and there are only so many parties and hotels,” they added.
The fact that Rob went to such lengths just to avoid Kristen isn’t exactly surprising, as Rob recently admitted that he would be open to doing another Twilight— but not necessarily with Kristen! “Why not?” Rob said in an interview with Elle France as to whether he’d be open to doing another film. However, when the subject turned to his former costar, Rob opted not to comment. “I preferred not to broach the subject,” he said.
Well, we can’t blame Rob for being disinterested in treading his past. He is happily engaged to FKA twigs, while Kristen, too, seems to have moved on and is rumored to be in a relationship with Alicia Cargile.
Do you think Rob was avoiding Kristen, or was he truly just, ya know, busy?
