Oh no! Tim Tebow has been cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a shocking report. The Eagles were forced to reduce their teams to a 53-person roster, and Tim reportedly didn’t make the cut.
Well, it looks like Tim Tebow won’t be playing for the Philadelphia Eagles this year. The 28-year-old quarterback has been released by the team, a new report claims. The team had to cut their roster to just 53 players, and Tim wasn’t one of the lucky ones. Will he find a new home with another NFL team?!
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that Tim had been cut by the Eagles. On Sept. 4, all NFL teams have to make cuts to their teams by 4 p.m. ET. He is now back on the lookout to find another NFL home.
At the Eagles game versus the New York Jets on Sept. 3, Tim completed 11 of 17 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. During the Philadelphia Eagles’ preseason opener on Aug. 16, Tim got a standing ovation. All hope isn’t lost for Tim yet. Tim could still be signed to another NFL team after the teams make their final cuts.
Tim brought home two national championships to Florida during his college career. Despite a wonderful college career, Tim hasn’t been on the field for an NFL regular season game since Dec. 2012. Tim was cut by the New England Patriots in 2013 before the regular season. Before heading to the Eagles, Tim was a football analyst for ESPN in 2014.
We hope Tim finds his way to another NFL team. We loved seeing him out on the field!
