Turns out wild animals and retro-style dresses weren’t the only things popping up in Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dream’ video! The mini-movie was actually FULL of easter eggs, referencing everything from Taylor’s BFF to scenes from her early videos. So sneaky!
Taylor Swift, 25, is known for embedding secret messages into her lyrics, but the hidden easter eggs in her new music video for “Wildest Dreams” just took things to a whole new level! As dedicated fans have pointed out on social media, the video is actually brimming with subtle references to her family, friends and previous videos. How many did you miss? While we were all so focused on how amazing Taylor looks as a brunette, the ‘Style’ singer — whose album, 1989, you can buy here — was secretly spelling out an entire story about her life right in front of our eyes! Thankfully, a number of her biggest fans on Tumblr had their eyes peeled for such an instance, and have since decoded a number of these easter eggs. Among our favorites is the subtle one that pays tribute to her grandparents, for whom it turns out, the characters were named after. As a close-up of the actors’s chairs in the video points out, Taylor’s name, Marjorie Finn, is actually a reference to her grandmother, who was named Marjorie Finlay, while Scott’s name, Robert Kingsley, is actually her grandfather’s first name and her father’s middle name combined. So clever!
But it doesn’t stop there! As it turns out, the video is really just one big reference to Tay’s meteoric career, as a number of its scenes can actually be traced back to scenes from her earlier music videos, including 2009’s “White Horse,” which ends in almost the same exact way in case you forgot. And as one astute fan pointed out, there may even been a shout out to her BFF Karlie Kloss, 23, in the form of a solitary giraffe. See for yourself:

Our minds our blown! Leave it to Taylor Swift to transform a music video about love and breakups into a full-blown easter egg adventure! If this doesn’t secure her a spot in next year’s Video of the Year category, nothing will.
What do you think HollywoodLifers — Is this Taylor’s most impressive music video yet?
