Joan Rivers may no longer be with us, but her presence will live on during ‘Fashion Police’ thanks to a fun new segment called ‘What Would Joan Say?’ And in the show’s post-VMAs episode, the hosts took on one of Joan’s favorite subjects — Justin Bieber!
Justin Bieber, 22, is still not safe on the Fashion Police! Joan Rivers loved calling out the pop star for his fashion and life choices when she was alive, and her daughter, Melissa Rivers, is continuing the tradition now that the show has returned. Watch to see what she, and the rest of her co-hosts, had to say about the Biebs’ Video Music Awards hair in their new segment ‘What Would Joan Say?’ To hear more about Justin Bieber, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
After a TON of drama during Fashion Police’s first post-Joan run earlier this year, the show finally came back on Aug. 31 with Melissa hosting and Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski remaining on the panel. In the post-VMAs episode, the crew was joined by Nene Leakes and Margaret Cho, and they held NOTHING back when discussing Justin’s interesting hairstyle.
In the ‘What Would Joan Say’ segment, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star kicked things off by retorting, “Yes, yes! Justin is back! But it looks like he forgot his hairbrush…” LOL. Yep, that is TOTALLY something Joan would say. And the slams just got even crazier from there.
“Kate Gosselin called…she wants her hair back,” Giuliana — whose book you can buy here — added next, with Brad joking, “I think Joan would say, ‘Insert lesbian joke here.'” And, last but not least, Melissa, who obviously knew her mother better than anybody, came up with probably the best response: “God, she looks pretty! I don’t know who Ellen’s plastic surgeon is, but the old clam-slammer looks amazing!”
It’s pretty clear that the Fashion Police hosts aren’t changing much when it comes to the show’s blunt nature — they even went so far as to joke about the comment Giuliana made about Zendaya after the Oscars, which led to major controversy, as well as Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin leaving the show. “That hair looks like it smells like weed and patchouli oil,” Margaret said, referencing Miley’s VMAs look — the same diss G made about Zendaya, which was deemed racist and insensitive. Hey, might as well just jump right into things, right?
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of the new Fashion Police segment? Do you think the show is still good without Joan?
