Eek. Unfortunately, not everyone thought Rebel Wilson’s anti-police stripper skit at the VMAs was funny. Click inside to see what activists are saying about her!
Rebel Wilson, 35, upset a handful of people with her “F Tha Stripper Police” skit on Sunday night, Aug. 30, at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Calif. Although she obviously didn’t intend to offend or be insensitive towards the massive police brutality issue going on in the United States, she might want to re-think her next award show costume change.
Oh boy. Rebel’s star may be rising, but unfortunately that doesn’t mean she can get away with everything just yet. For instance, when she walked out on the 2015 VMAS stage wearing a full head-to-toe police officer costume, there were surely people who immediately cringed. But, it turned out that her bit was more about strippers than police officers. Typical Rebel!
“They come to your house. You think you’re getting arrested, and you just get a lap dance that is usually uninspired,” Rebel lamented after ripping off her police uniform to reveal a black t-shirt that read “F–k Tha Police Strippers.” The Pitch Perfect 2 star continued, “I hate this injustice, hence the shirt.”
Rebel is known as being a funny woman, so it’s safe to assume that she meant absolutely no harm by this little bit Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some outrage across the internet about what just happened. Check ’em out below:
