We never thought we’d say this, but science is so cool! On an episode of ‘MythBusters,’ Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman tested whether Walter White could’ve really built and used a booby trap machine gun effectively, as shown in the ‘Breaking Bad’ finale. Watch the video here!
Have you ever wondered whether Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) whole trunk/machine gun invention, as shown in the Breaking Bad series finale, would work in real life? Well, MythBusters tested the gadget, and now we have the answer.
If you haven’t seen the finale of Breaking Bad yet, slap yourself and then stop reading. In the finale, which aired on September 29, 2013, Walter White built a machine gun to pop out of his trunk and shoot a bunch of people dead, so he could save Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). His plan worked, but that was on TV. Would the same thing happen in real life? Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who host MythBusters, tested that theory, and we couldn’t be happier.
They ended up building the machine gun the same way Walter did, thanks to a bunch of retail stores. They also had wooden stand-ins for the characters who were shot in the series finale, and creator Vince Gilligan was also on hand to watch the gun gadget get tested. So cool!
In the end, the trunk machine gun worked, so MythBusters proved that Walter White could have saved the day — theoretically. Amazing! And to see Vince’s delight at the conclusion of this new video is just the icing on the cake. Watch it all above!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised the machine gun worked? Vote in our poll and tell us how you feel!
