At the end of season 2A, Karma was blindsided with the revelation that her boyfriend, Liam, and her best friend, Amy, slept together. She still has both of them in her life, but she’s not over their betrayal. Katie revealed that Karma’s still figuring things out, and it will lead to her discovering who she truly is.
“This season is kind of going to be how Karma figures out how to deal with that and kind of rise from that, and how she can forgive both of them,” Katie told HollywoodLife.com. “She’s definitely going to go through her discovery process of not only figuring that out but kind of figuring out what kind of girl she is, which I think is relatable to a lot of 15-year-old girls.”
Karma’s relationships with Liam and Amy are in very similar places at the start of the season. Katie dished that Karma “doesn’t want to get too close or let her guard down completely” with both of them. Karma is sort of in a “friends with benefits” relationship with Liam, while she’s kind of “faking” being back to a good place with Amy.
“I think Karma is faking being back to good with both of them because she just doesn’t know how to completely let her guard down in front of both of them yet, and that’s going to be a lot of her process throughout the season. She is going to make a lot of mistakes trying to cope with everything that happened.”
When asked who she wants Karma and Amy to end up with, Katie played coy with us. “I want them to end up whoever makes them happy,” she said. “They love each other, so whether that will be them together or whether that be with them finding other people, I think they both deserve happiness.”
Faking It airs Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET on MTV.
