Fox News’s Megyn Kelly got into it with yet another presidential candidate on Aug. 25: Sen. Ted Cruz! Things became heated when Cruz refused to answer Megyn’s question on immigration and later attacked her for acting like a ‘mainstream liberal journalist.’
Megyn Kelly, 44, sure is having a rough go of it with the Republican presidential candidates as of late. After being attacked by Donald Trump, 69, at the first GOP debate, the Fox News host found herself tangled up in yet another GOP election battle on her show The Kelly File on Aug. 25, this time with Sen. Ted Cruz, 44. The Republican candidate refused to answer her question concerning birthright citizenship and then proceed to attack her when she pressed him for answers. Check out her response!
Poor Megan Kelly —she just can’t seem to get through an interview these days without being being chewed out by her subjects! The latest drama unfolded when the Fox News host pressed Sen. Cruz on a question that Donald Trump was asked on the network one day prior: If a husband and a wife were undocumented immigrants and had two children who were born in the United States and citizens, would you deport the citizen children? Well, apparently this was too direct a question for Cruz, who proceeded to dodge it, while rambling on about a far more general plan for immigration reform.
“But that doesn’t sound like an answer,” Kelly said to Cruz. “Mr. Trump answered that question explicitly last night on The O’Reilly Factor. Will you do so now?” Cruz would not and instead discussed how he thought Congress could fix the immigration system. “No,” said Cruz, who both smiled and sounded irritated at points, adding: “Megyn, I get that’s the question you want to ask. That’s also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask.”
To be fair, Trump had no problem answering the exact same question the day prior, admitting that he would deport the children. Of course, it also wasn’t long before that, that he too criticized Megyn and her form of questioning at the Republican Presidential Candidates Debate, and then proceeded to attack her for a second time on Twitter following an episode of The Kelly File on Aug. 24.
When will this all stop! It seems as if there’s far more attacking going on here than actually campaigning, which if you ask us, is hardly acceptable presidential behavior. Candidates, take note: if you don’t like being asked tough questions, maybe you should reconsider your bid for the presidency. After all, that kinda comes with the job territory.
