Poor Rosie O’Donnell. Just one week after her daughter returned home — she was reported missing on Aug. 11 and found ‘safe’ several days later — Chelsea O’Donnell has left home again. But this time, she reportedly went to live with her birth mother, Deanna, who gave up her for adoption in 1997.
Rosie O’Donnell‘s joyous reunion with her adopted daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, has been cut short. Chelsea has allegedly decided to go live with her birth mother, Deanna, who gave her up for adoption in 1997, a new report claims. This comes just days after Chelsea went missing on Aug. 11, but returned home safely several days later.
Deanna reportedly “drove down from Wisconsin to pick Chelsea up on Monday afternoon,” a source told TMZ. And Aug. 24 just so happened to be Chelsea’s 18th birthday. Deanna and Chelsea allegedly drove back to Wisconsin, which is where she will stay for the time being, the site further claims.
This is so sad for Rosie, 53. We can’t even imagine how heartbroken she must be. The former co-host of The View allegedly tried convincing Chelsea not to go with Deanna, the source said, but she went anyway. Rosie reportedly cut Chelsea off financially, and she allegedly refuses to hand over her birth certificate and social security card, TMZ also claims.
This is a devastating situation all around. Rosie just reported Chelsea was missing on Aug. 18, seven days after she last saw and heard from her. Thankfully, she was found “safe,” less than 24 hours later.
Rosie’s rep told HollywoodLife.com, “Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice.”
“Chelsea and her dog have been found. They are both doing well and in good health. She was found in New Jersey. Our department hasn’t spoken to Chelsea directly yet, but our detective is en route to interview her now. Miss. Rosie O’Donnell has been notified as well,” Officer O’Sullivan, of South Nyack-Grandview Police told HollywoodLife.com.
