Matrix SoColor Celebrity Stylist Nick Stenson told HollywoodLife.com:
“Andi’s cut needed to maintain length, yet still give her loads of volume and movement for the active life she lives. I created interior layers for movement and separation, then added longer layers to remove any dead ends and to give her long hair style added bounce. I ran a couple drops of Matrix StyleLink Volume Booster to wet hair and blew it dry with a round brush. To set the style, I layered Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder for added volume and body. It’s a winning, last-all-day combination!”
Hair Makeover — What To Do For Fall
Andi’s cut and color is not a dramatic change, but the highlights give a subtle prettiness to her look.
Kyle White, lead colorist at Oscar Blandi Salon in New York City, tells HollywoodLife.com:
“The way for brunettes to achieve highlights is to do thick ribbons of highlights, not finely-woven strands, and to place them further apart, not close together. Highlights that are not closely placed ensure contrast and guarantee you won’t create a solid look. The thicker swatches give a beachy, sun-kissed look because the sun doesn’t lighten hair in tiny, capellini-sized streaks. In addition, you want the highlights to fade out at the crown, leaving the underneath untouched, in the same way that the sun only hits the top of your head and doesn’t lighten the depths of your hair.”
