Taylor Swift brought down the house when she brought 90s popstar, Alanis Morissette on stage to perform her hit You Oughta Know. But was she doing this to hurt her arch nemesis, Katy Perry? You’ll never believe how there’s a connection!
Taylor Swift, 25, had one of the best concerts ever at the Staples Center in LA on Aug. 24 and it was a blast from the past when Alanis Morissette took the stage. The singer performed “You Oughta Know” which was off her first album, Jagged Little Pill. But what does this have to do with Katy Perry? Fans think it has everything to do with their feud!“She defined the music of her decade,” Taylor said as Alanis took the stage. “She inspired a generation of confessional female singer-songwriters who all of a sudden felt like you could actually say these raw feelings that you had; you could actually sing about your real life, you could put detail to it, you could get really, really made if you wanted to. And I think it’s fair to say that so many of the female singer-songwriters of my generation, including myself, would not write the way that we do without her and her music. And she has written some of the most brilliant music – in particular probably inarguably the greatest breakup song of all-time.”
The potential Katy, 30, connection lies with a quote Katy gave when she was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2010: “Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette, every single song struck a chord, an emotional chord inside of me.” Now fans believe that Taylor intentionally invited Katy’s all-time idol on stage to diss Katy. We know that Bad Blood was all about Katy and Taylor’s ongoing feud but would Taylor really have Alanis perform with her to diss Katy?
HollywoodLifers, do you think this duet was a dig at Katy by having Alanis perform with her on stage?
