Our hearts are beating so fast after watching the Aug. 25 episode of ‘Scream.’ We’re just seven days away from the season finale and finding out the killer’s identity. But before we get to that, we have to assess the damage that was done during the annual Halloween dance!
Just when we thought we had the entire season of Scream figured out, the Aug. 25 episode threw us for a loop. Noah (John Karna) really meant it when he said, “everyone’s a suspect.” Just because Mr. Seth Branson (Bobby Campo) is suspected to be the killer, doesn’t mean he is. Let us explain.
As the episode starts, Seth Branson is still in police custody, but Brooke (Carlson Young) tells Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) she’s having a hard time believing he’s guilty of killing a bunch of people. Brooke, who was also a bit shaken up after the attack on her, then goes to stay at Jake’s house since her dad’s in jail and her mom’s in rehab. Emma tries calming Brooke down, but she has her own Branson business to deal with. After finding out she has a secret sibling, Emma believes Seth is her biological brother, so she goes to the police station to see if she can get a reaction out of him. Unfortunately, nothing substantial happens.
Later, Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) and Emma visit Brandon James’ mom, Cassie James, hoping she’ll give them some more background information on the legendary killer. During their visit, Mrs. James thinks Emma is Daisy, and she reveals that Brandon had a “boy,” who visited her recently. When they push for a name, Cassie says his name is Keith, so they assume she means Seth. But later, Piper returns to Cassie’s home by herself with a yearbook and then tells Emma that Cassie pointed out Kieran’s face.
Noah and Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) also come across old videos of Rachel’s (morbid much?). And when they watch one, they see Kieran on a mysterious date with Nina (Bella Thorne).
Furthermore, the sheriff (Jason Wiles) makes a shocking discovery, when he realizes that all of the calls Emma has received from the killer weren’t even coming from Seth’s house. But before crossing Seth off the suspect list, the sheriff ventures out to a random home, where the signals were coming from. He walks into the house with the door unlocked, and discovers an opened laptop with active surveillance footage, but when he hears a noise, we see the killer come up behind him and hit him over the head, knocking him out.
Later at the annual Halloween dance, Audrey tries warning Emma about Kieran, but she doesn’t want to hear it. When Emma eventually confronts Kieran about his date with Nina, he says it was all innocent and he had nothing to do with her murder. He’s also offended that she believed he’d be a killer, so he storms off. Moments later, the sheriff is seen tied to a tree in a video blasted on a big screen at the dance. (So scary! Is Kieran responsible?!)
Oh, and Seth apparently breaks out of jail.
