Congrats Tyler and Catelynn, you’re officially the Baltierras! It has been a pleasure watching you both grow into two wonderful people and also two wonderful parents. You’ve both proven that relationships needs work, but if you’re willing to put in the effort, you can happily ride off into the sunset together!
Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell, you are one of my favorite couples in the world of reality television & have finally tied the knot. From middle school to walking down the aisle, it’s beyond wonderful to have witnessed it all unfold over the years and here’s why.
Most teen relationships become rather lackluster and fizzle out after a few months, but not yours! Most teen relationships don’t endure the hardships you both have. Most teen relationships don’t survive getting pregnant, but yours did. All in all, because your relationship did make it and it was televised for everyone to see, one thing is for sure — you’re an inspiration. Also, I can tell that you’re more in love than ever and that is beautiful.
Statistics show that 8 out of 10 fathers don’t marry the teen mother of their babies and most couples don’t stay together at all. Yet, you’ve both took this statistic and stomped all over it! You both have proved that your love can withstand a painful adoption, relationship issues with both of your parents, surviving a split, therapy, self-esteem issues, multiple seasons on reality TV, a tell-all book, years of wedding planning, a second baby, home renovations (those could be brutal) and much, much more!
Back in 2010, you both admitted that Carly deserved much more than you could give her at 16-years-old. Catelynn you told People, “We’re not the right parents for her now,” while Tyler added, “She deserves so much better.” It was so honest and so brave, especially hearing that from two young teens. You both made such a mature decision back then, and yes, it WAS for the better. You both wouldn’t be were you are today if you hadn’t given Carly to Brandon and Teresa Davis.
It’s clear you both wholeheartedly love Carly and will continue to do so, and what’s even more amazing is that you’ve been able to keep a great relationship with her along the way. Not many parents who give up their baby can say the same and for that, you can’t help but be thankful for how it all turned out.
I also have to applaud you from bouncing back from a scary split when Tyler was staying in New Orleans to pursue a career in acting back in Nov. 2012. It shows just how strong your bond was to withstand the trouble that was put in front of you. Thankfully, Tyler, you made the right decision to come back home for Thanksgiving and you haven’t missed a holiday since!
Not only have you both grown into wonderful people, you’ve also flourished as parents. When you welcomed your second daughter, Nova, on New Years Day, I could tell you both were finally ready. Since then, you haven’t let me or anyone else down. You both prove day in and day out that Nova is one lucky little lady — it’s a beautiful thing.
Lastly, I have to add, I LOVE seeing you both share your feelings for one another on social media, especially Tyler! It’s so refreshing to witness a guy express himself in such a way, it’s truly a wonderful trait. I know a lot of girls who would love to have a man open up like this. This past Feb., you posted an adorable picture of you both on Instagram and captioned it, “I cant wait to make this beautiful woman my bride in 6 months. I’m the luckiest man in the world to have such an incredible god sent angel by my side. @catelynnmtv you will never know what a blessing you have been to my life, so it looks like I will be spending the rest of my days proving it to you as your husband #MyBaby#StrongestWomanIKnow #PureAngel #BrideToBe.” It was beyond cute, and you continue to post such touching things for your family.
Congrats again to you both, you deserve all of the happiness in the world and I personally hope you continue to inspire other teen parents that it IS possible to make it!
