Get ready, ‘Teen Wolf’ fans. The season 5A finale is going to be nothing short of epic. HollywoodLife.com talked to Cody Christian (a.k.a. Theo) about the finale, and he says the show features one of the ‘biggest reveals I think in Teen Wolf history.’
If you’re having anxiety about the upcoming Teen Wolf finale, you’re pretty much in the same boat with every Teen Wolf fan. Theo’s got tricks up his sleeve, and no one is ready. Cody Christian spilled crazy finale scoop about Theo’s master plan, Theo’s “connection” to Malia (Shelley Hennig) and more. He promises us that fans are definitely going to keep “hating him” after the Aug. 24 finale. Oh boy.
“I’m going to get the most amount of death threats anyone has ever received on Twitter,” Cody told HollywoodLife.com. “The finale is going one of the biggest reveals I think in Teen Wolf history. You’re really going to learn about Theo and his plan because that is what’s been really driving the season. There are just so many questions, and the finale is really going to answer a lot of them. I think people are finally going to see and understand Theo’s purpose in Beacon Hills, and they’re definitely going to keep hating him, I’ll tell you that.”
Okay, we’re not emotionally prepared. Theo has been mischieviously making his way into the pack, and everything has started to unravel since he arrived in Beacon Hills. It’s definitely not a coincidence. Cody admits that Theo’s meant to be the guy you love to hate. “I think Theo should be recognized as one of the best villains of Teen Wolf thus far,” he continues. “We’ve yet to see a villain be so personally involved with the pack, and it’s something to be said about the people closest to you will also be the ones that are the most detrimental.”
Besides Scott, Theo has gotten close to Malia, Stiles’ main girl (besides Lydia, of course), and we’re all wondering where that’s going. “Theo’s ultimate goal when he came to Beacon Hills was to earn the trust of every member of the pack, and as you saw the season progressed, you saw there were things that Theo did and things that Theo said and also things Theo didn’t do or say that earned him a little bit of trust with each character. There was a connection between Theo and Malia that I think Malia was oblivious to. I think we actually learn what that connection is in the finale and as the future goes for the season. Going into 5B, anything is possible. I think the finale is really going dictate the direction.
Listen, it’s been really hard to truly hate Theo. (Seriously, have you seen him?) One minute we hate him, the next we kind of love him again. Cody assures us that Theo is a villain but gives us perspective on Theo’s point of view.
“I had a conversation with Jeff Davis when we were first finding the direction Theo was going to take, and the note he gave me that stuck with me the entire time was, ‘No villain ever thinks he’s doing the wrong thing.’ They just think their perspective is the right perspective and everyone else is wrong. There’s a justification going on in Theo’s head. There’s a reason why he’s doing this. He’s doing this because the ends justifies the means in his opinion. He’s not seeing what his actions are as being malicious. He sees it as the next step.”
The Teen Wolf 5A finale airs Monday, Aug. 23, at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
