‘Gotham’ needs a hero more than ever in this thrilling trailer for season two of the hit FOX show. See The Joker and even more villains attempt to set Gotham City on fire with their evil ways. Click to WATCH!

It’s nearly upon us! The second season of one of our fave shows, Gotham, is only weeks away, and its latest trailer looks absolutely awesome! Supervillains, including The Joker (Cameron Monaghan), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) cause so much mayhem in the troubled city in this all-too-brief clip.

While season one only teased certain villains, this season is going to turn its focus on the evil beings in Gotham. In fact, if you cast your minds back to the season one finale when gangster boss Fish Mooney, played viciously by Jada Pinkett Smith, departed the show, Oswald Cobblepot, better known as The Penguin, became the villain we should all fear.

Now, in season two, it looks like we’ll be seeing the rise of the villains that made the franchise so brilliant! And the main focus, it appears, is going to be Batman’s most-feared nemesis — The Joker! As showrunner Bruno Heller, 55, recently revealed at Comic-Con, Gotham WILL descend into chaos as the villains take over. Other enemies like Tigress, Clayface and Mad Hatter have also been confirmed to appear later in the series. We can’t wait till it hits screens on Sept. 21.

‘Gotham’ Season 2: The Joker Is Taking Over

The Joker’s prominence in the new trailer was teased by Bruno in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter soon after the first season ended.

“We’re going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him. That’s the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We’re going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be,” Bruno divulged.
