This is too sad for words. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have made their split official, filing for divorce after five years of marriage. This is definitely the summer of breakups, guys.
Megan Fox, 29, officially filed for divorce from her husband of five years, Brian Austin Green, on Friday, August 21, just two days after announcing their separation. Megan, who has been with Brian for 11 years altogether, apparently cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for filing. This is just heartbreaking!
Megan and Brian seemed like such a happy pair, staying together for more than a decade and parenting two adorable sons, Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 8 months! Not true, sadly. Megan is allegedly asking for joint physical and legal custody of their children, according to TMZ. Because the couple had no prenup, the assets obtained during their marriage will become community property, divided 50/50.
Since Megan and Brian have been together for so long, that their money is likely so entwined that they’ll have to divvy everything in half — even though, as sources told TMZ, Megan makes more money than Brian. She has several massive franchises to her name, like Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to account for that.
Because of their pay disparity, Megan might also wind up paying Brian spousal support; he apparently also has medical problems that need to be addressed, and Megan will need to help him with that. They’re a loving and amicable pair still, so this isn’t a problem! Reportedly, they’re still living in the same house with their boys, even though they’re headed toward officially splitting. We think that’s very admirable!
Though Megan and Brian announced they were separating on August 19, the official date of their separation was listed as June 15 on the documents. How did they go so long without this news getting out? It makes sense, though; they haven’t been photographed together since June 9. Something fishy was definitely happening!
“Irreconcilable differences” could mean so many things, but one rumor remains constant: Brian and Megan had allegedly been fighting over her acting career. Brian allegedly believed that Megan was getting too focused on her career, after landing roles in more and more blockbusters, and not spending enough time with her family. Could it be true?
