That wasn’t long! Kristen Stewart quickly ditched her high heels for a more, um, comfortable look as she went barefoot, right on the red carpet. Was her decision to ditch her shoes totally cool or a major fashion fail? VOTE.
Kristen Stewart, 25, looked amazing when she arrived at the premiere of her latest film, American Ultra, at The Theater at Ace Hotel in LA on Aug. 18, but it wasn’t long before she jumped out of her pointy pumps and went completely barefoot, right on the red carpet. While usually KStew brings along a pair of sneakers, on this occasion she opted for a way more comfortable look. Now this isn’t a look we get to see everyday!
On one hand, it’s cool to see Kristen choose comfort and not conform, but part of me wishes she just sucked it up a little bit longer — only because her outfit was so stunning! The star stepped out in a floral sequin Zuhair Murad romper, which featured a dramatic plunging neckline that looked beyond sexy on the star. Kristen stayed true to her edgy yet chic sense of style in this leggy look, (which was completely covered in sequins!), as it put one of her best assets, her long legs, on full display.
KStew may be a Chanel muse, but she also has an affinity for Zuhair Murad’s show-stopping designs — and this was a total red carpet win in my book. The embroidered black, long-sleeved romper, from the Resort 2016 collection, fit her perfectly. I especially love the way her dramatic, winged eyeshadow added to the edgy vibe of the get-up. From the plunging, short silhouette to her hair and makeup, everything about this look was premiere perfect — that was, until Kristen stepped out of her shoes!
We have to get back to the whole barefoot factor. Sure, Kristen has gone barefoot before, but usually she waits until the very end of the night before she kicks off her heels — but that wasn’t the case this time around! We’ve all been there, Kristen….we feel your pain. I’ve spent years pleading with the star to try to suck it up, or maybe try to find a shoe she feels more comfortable in, but I’ve also come to accept her signature shoe swap — but I don’t think I can get behind her decision to go barefoot, although I do think it’s cool that she does whatever she wants, whenever she wants.
I’m clearly so conflicted, but what do you think? Did Kristen totally bring down her glam red carpet look by going barefoot or do you think it’s totally cool?
