Well, that’s not Jon Stewart! In the brand new promo for the new ‘Daily Show,’ it’s the same chair — but a different backside taking a seat at the desk. And we kind of love it. Watch!
What better way to come into Comedy Central than with the help of Kanye West? Trevor Noah, 31, takes a seat at The Daily Show desk, in the chair that was formerly Jon Stewart‘s. Of course, the sound track is perfect and well, we also get a zoomed in look at the “different ass.” Watch it here.
Yes, that is Kanye’s “Power” playing in the background — and it kind of works, right? In the new promo, we get a close up of Trevor getting ready to take iconic desk, including a close up view of his backside and a cute smile. Trevor, who is noticeably taller than Jon, also has to lower the chair in the ad, which is pretty cute.
“I have a very vague picture of the show right now,” Noah told GQ in an interview last month. “It’ll be like a face-lift. Because, don’t get it twisted, I’m a big fan of The Daily Show, and that’s what it’s still gonna be. It’s still gonna be The Daily Show. It’s the same way, when Fallon took over from Leno, it’s still The Tonight Show.”
“Just the mere fact that I’m gonna be there in the chair changes a whole bunch of the show, you know?” he added. Well, this trailer makes that definitely evident.
We’re actually pretty stoked to see the comedian take over, as much as we love Jon Stewart– his first post-Daily Show job will be hosting WWE’s SummerSlam on Aug. 23. The Daily Show returns with Noah to Comedy Central on Sept. 28. Are you ready?
