Oh my GOD, you guys, we’re so excited — our girl, Selena Gomez, is heading to ‘The Voice!’ The singer will be part of Season 9 of the hit show by serving as advisor to Gwen Stefani’s team, NBC confirmed. Yes!
With her album Revival coming out on Oct. 9, Selena Gomez, 23, already has a BIG few months ahead of her, but she’s ready to add another job to her already extensive resume! The “Good For You” singer is making her debut on The Voice in its upcoming season, and she’ll be working with Gwen Stefani, 45. Girl power!
Selena will be in some good company, too. John Fogerty will be serving as Adam Levine’s adviser, Brad Paisley will help out Blake Shelton and Missy Elliott is going to be on team Pharrell Williams. Plus, Rihanna will be serving as a mentor to all teams later on in the show. No big deal!
Luckily, the 23-year-old can get some advice from a very reputable source — her BFF, Taylor Swift, 25, was a key advisor in Season 8, working with Adam, Blake, Pharrell and Christina Aguilera and offering some valuable advice to their team members. Plus, with Selena’s episodes likely airing right around the beginning of October, it’s the perfect opportunity for the brunette beauty to promote her new album!
No pressure on Selena or anything, but when Gwen last coached on The Voice in Season 7, she didn’t even have a contestant make it into the finals! But these ladies are for SURE a powerhouse team, and we have total faith that Selena will be a major asset for the No Doubt singer during her second venture on the show. Watch out, Team Blake!
The Voice returns to NBC on Sept. 21.
Tell us, HollywoodLifers: Are you as excited as we are to see Selena on The Voice?
