Wow! Congrats to Jason Day for winning the PGA Championship! Jason secured the historic win at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin on Aug. 16 with a score of -20, the lowest score ever at a Major tournament!
When it comes to golf, Jason Day, 27, is a Hole In One. The golfer secured the victory in the 2015 PGA Championship, outplaying some of the best in the golf world to win the tournament. Jason also did it with a record-setting score! Amazing! Congrats to Jason!
The final Major tournament in golf concluded on Aug. 16 in Whistling Straits in beautiful Kohler, Wisconsin, reports the New York Post. When it all came to a close, Jason was on top, taking home the Wanamaker Trophy with a score of -20. Second place went to Jordan Spieth, who finished the tournament three strokes behind Jason.
Dustin Johnson took the lead in the first round of the PGA Championship, ending with 6-under-par with a score of 66, reports USA Today. That was the third time this season that Dustin shot to the top at the start of a major championship. He began the U.S. Open and the Open Championship with a commanding lead, but stumbled in the latter rounds. Dustin failed to make the cut of second half of the Open tournament and he tied for second at the U.S. Open. Unfortunately, he stumbled again and finished the tournament in 6th place.
Tiger Woods started the PGA Championship on the wrong foot. Once considered the best golfer in the world, Tiger struggled during the first round. He made par at the first role for the first time at any major this year! His good fortune quickly disappeared, and Tiger got frustrated, dropping “F-bombs” while out on the field, according to CNN. Tiger would fail to make the cut after the second round!
With the final Major tournament over, the PGA Tour now goes on to the Wyndham Championship on Aug. 23. It’s the last tournament before the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs to determine the Season champion of the US PGA Tour.
What did you think about this year’s PGA Championship, HollywoodLifers? Who were you rooting for? Are you amazed by Jason’s record-setting performance?
