OMG, is the war over?! Meek Mill and Drake have been going back and forth for weeks, but Meek seemingly ended their feud in a lengthy Instagram comment on Aug. 12, even going so far as saying he’ll ‘take the blame’ for everything that went down.
After weeks of feuding, Meek Mill, 28, seems to have ended his beef with Drake, 28. In a rambling Instagram comment, Nicki Minaj’s fiancé doesn’t exactly take back anything that he’s said, but he does make it clear that he want’s the fighting to stop once and for all.
“We really only focusing on making it out that’s the only war we fighting…” he wrote. “I’m not entertaining no rap/real beef over drake s/o rapper! I can’t fall for the oldest trick in the book and I never shoulda entertained it bcuz it won’t bring me no money or success.. Ima take blame for it even tho “I can stand” anything I do or say and n***az know. Everybody know everybody watching and anything beyond what’s going on is stupid to b reacting on about a bunch of n***as just tryna get on and in the game..I been in these streets having money for a long time now “shining hard” and need had a problem with I came up from nothing and my name good.”
One thing Meek has made clear in his message — it’s ALL about the money. Throughout this whole back-and-forth, the public has mostly taken Drake’s side, so perhaps he realized having beef with one of the world’s most popular rappers wasn’t exactly working out too well for his career?
“I don’t feel like I gotta try to prove myself to the people and end up in a real situation over this fake rap s–t!” he added. “I’m just on some next level s–t wit it tryna touch some real paper… Leave all that murder one s–t in th streets if you tryna get rich and make it out! All this killer s–t on social media is like walking ya self into prison and that ain’t my lifestyle and don’t really make sense to me…. I’m getting way too much money to even process the thought of throwing it away about n***as talking about each other like girls they just was claiming they was cool with and at the end of the day they all just tryna get on! All I can say is do ya thing but n***as better smarten up!”
Even though this post clearly makes it seem like Meek is calling it quits on feuding with Drake, some of his wording is a little bit suspicious — is he trying to say that Drake is ‘fake’ and ‘stupid to b reacting on about a bunch of n***as just tryna get on and in the game’?
Either way, it kind of makes sense for Meek to take the blame in this situation…after all, he is the one who started this whole battle by taking to Twitter to claim Drake uses a ghostwriter! Things, of course, got super escalated from there, with Drake releasing two diss tracks about his fellow rapper and Meek firing back in his own song…and so much more. And poor Nicki, who’s always been good friends with Drake, has been caught in the middle this whole time!
Meek Mill comes to his senses.. Posted and deleted this comment. Says he doesn’t have to prove himself. Good read. pic.twitter.com/8cEIb2DKxV
