So exciting! At this week’s D23 Expo, Disney·Pixar revealed the very first look at the most anticipated movie of 2016, ‘Finding Dory.’ And not just that — they also revealed that Ed O’Neill (‘Modern Family’) is lending his voice to the ‘Nemo’ sequel.
Seven-thousand eight-hundred Disney·Pixar fans were in tears on Aug. 14, when Ellen DeGeneres made a surprise appearance at the D23 Expo, where a first look at Finding Dory, a sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo, was revealed. The talk show host was joined by Modern Family‘s Ed O’Neill, who will lend his voice to the film, and they sang Marvin Gaye‘s “Let’s Get It On.” It was a moment we’ll never forget.
The pic shown above is a screenshot from a scene that was shown at the expo. In the sequel, Dory is captured and brought to a marine wildlife preserve in California. She thinks she found her long-lost parents at this facility, so she’s trying to get an octopus named Hank (Ed O’Neill) to help her find them.
Another clip shown at the expo, which happens earlier in the film, sees Dory getting knocked unconscious and waking up to remember that she has a family, who’s looking for her. Later in the scene, while sleep-swimming, Dory mentions Monterey, California and convinces Nemo (Ellen DeGeneres) and Marlin to set off and help her find her family.
According to Disney·Pixar, the sequel “reunites Dory with friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale? Also featuring the voices of Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Ty Burrell, and Eugene Levy, Disney·Pixar’s Finding Dory swims into theaters June 17, 2016.” We can’t wait!
