Oh, you fancy, huh? The ‘Empire’ cast is gearing up for season two — and what better way to celebrate the colossal success of the show than with a stellar spread in ‘VOGUE’ magazine? Check out the stunning shoot right here.
The Empire cast, along with its creator, Lee Daniels, and The Weeknd turn up the dial on fall fashion with a show-stopping spread in VOGUE magazine‘s September issue. Inside, Taraji P. Henson rocks a fur that looks like it came right out of Cookie’s closet — and she looks stunning.
The stars of the show teamed up with creator Lee Daniels and The Weeknd for the chic shoot, which was lensed by famed photog Mario Testino. Inside, Lee, (the genius behind Precious and The Butler), shared his vision for the show with the fashion magazine: “to define music, art, and fashion from an African-American perspective.” He said: “Because I have been to Oprah’s house, and I have been to Puffy’s,” he tells me, “and I have been to my aunt Dot’s on Forty-sixth and Walnut in the projects of Philadelphia, and there’s a common thread. You can go down to the hood and still find gangsters’ girls who ain’t got two nickels, but the Louis Vuitton bag is fierce, and they will have the mink. I wanted to say: This is what people are wearing.”
From the amazing fashion to Cookie’s catchy one-liners and, of course, the drama, we can’t get enough of Empire — and this stunning shoot! Be sure to check out the September 2015 issue of Vogue magazine, (featuring Beyonce), for more from the cast.
