A first trailer for ‘Burnt,’ the upcoming culinary drama starring Bradley Cooper, has just been released, and it is seriously intense. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, right?

“The kitchen is the only place I’ve ever felt like I truly belonged,” Bradley Cooper says in this just-released trailer for Burnt. In the film, which will hit theaters on Oct. 23, Bradley will portray a one-time star chef, facing the pressures in one of the world’s most competitive industries. Having obtained celebrity status and then attempting to rise again after losing it all, it’s clear from the trailer alone that pans and skillets aren’t the only ones who will be feeling the heat in Burnt (cooking puns are fun, right?) Check out the preview!

“When I was 16 I quit school and saved up just enough for a one way ticket to Paris,” Bradley explains at the trailer’s start. “And maybe I just wanted it really bad and then when I got it too early, I didn’t know how to hold onto it.”

As is explained in the film, star chefs are a bit like rockstars. When someone asks whether Bradley is famous, the question is answered with an astute simile: “For a chef, he’s like The Rolling Stones.”

And, just like rockstars, the pressure is self evident, and the devices can be all too tempting. Hence, Bradley’s retreat to Louisiana, during which he spent his time “sniffing, snorting and injecting.” Ah, the rockstar trifecta.

Following his demise, though, he wants back on top. And so, he sets out once again to reclaim his status as the best chef in Paris, and open a brand new restaurant. “I don’t want my restaurant to be a place where you sit and eat,” he explains. “I want people to sit at that table and be sick with longing.”

Along with Bradley, the rest of the cast is extremely impressive as well, including Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. And if that weren’t enough, basically the entire movie will boast some of the most ridiculous food porn. In other words, don’t go see it on an empty stomach!

What do you think of the Burnt trailer? Are you going to check out Bradley in the role?
