This is a match made in pixie-cut heaven! Ellen DeGeneres recruited a very special guest to sing the new theme song for her long running talk show: Pink!
For the 13th season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which kicks off on Sept. 8, host Ellen DeGeneres knew she needed to go big– and she also needed to go Pink! The funny woman brought on the Grammy-winning singer to record the new theme song for her show, “Today’s the Day.” The song, like Ellen, is touching and inspiring and will leave you with a massive smile on your face. And, as an added bonus, we also got an adorable glimpse behind the scene’s of the song’s recording, featuring a very special guest: Pink’s 4-year-old daughter, Willow! So sweet!
“Wanna go sing with me?” Pink asks Willow as the two enter a recording studio together. She looks pretty disinterested, to be honest. You know that thing where celebrity children could not possibly care less about who their parents are? Yeah, seems to be the case here.
Anyway, the two head into the studio together regardless, and it’s beyond precious. “I wrote a theme song for Ellen season 13 and I am going in to record it,” she explains, slipping into the studio. “Hey Wills, this is where mommy goes to actually record her songs,” she explains to her youngster as she sports massive headphones.
We then get a seriously emotional montage, featuring some of the most epic moments of Ellen’s successful run so far. All our favs are featured: Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, even Meryl Streep! It’d be enough to bring a tear to the eye on its own, but the fact that it plays in conjunction with Pink’s gorgeously raspy pipes in the background basically has us losing it. Watch the whole thing below!
Do you like the new theme song? Do you think it fits the show’s vibe?
