What a great surprise! Nicki Minaj took time out from her ‘Pinkprint Tour’ on Aug. 7 to pay a special visit to a children’s hospital in Philadelphia, where she gave the kids a lesson in the art of rapping. So sweet!
Nicki Minaj, 32, made a surprise visit to the kids at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, where she not only did a Q&A with the kids (that yielded some pretty interesting answers mind you), but also performed her very first rap. Don’t worry, it’s kid-friendly and 100 percent adorable! You HAVE to watch the video!
If this doesn’t brighten up your day, nothing will. While chatting with the kid members from the Ryan Seacrest Foundation about her childhood dreams, Nicki dropped the first rap she ever wrote and, as it turns out, it wasn’t half bad! “Cookie’s the name, chocolate chip is the flavor / suck up my style’s like the cherry life saver,” she rapped for her young fans, who many admitted, had musical aspirations of their own. We for one, would totally be down with these lyrics being included on Nicki’s next album — they’re catchy, no?
When she wasn’t rapping for the youngsters, Nicki was busy answering a number of their most pressing questions and imparting some serious wisdom. Among the things we learned from the eye-opening interview: her favorite pizza topping is pineapple, her favorite past-time is eating fattening food in bed (us too, Nicki), and her favorite subject in school was spelling. Queen Barbs also made sure to relay the importance of staying in school and getting a good education, while instructing girls especially to be hands-on in their work. “I think it’s very important for girls to be very hands-on in everything they do,” she said. “Take control and lead your own destiny.”
What a wonderful day it must’ve been for these kids and their families! We love seeing Nicki give back to her young fans and more importantly, staying out of all the Meek Mill, 28, and Drake, 28, drama. As she and her rumored future child continue to be dragged into the feud, we’re just glad to see that she’s focusing on what really matters: being a kind, generous person. Kudos, Nicki!
