Perrie Edwards is finally ready to open up about her split from Zayn Malik, and according to a new report, she’s prepared to do it on live TV!
Perrie Edwards, 22, and Zayn Malik, 22, are so done. The Little Mix singer has already unfollowed and deleted all traces of her ex on social media, and now she’s prepared to speak out about the tragic breakup for the first time on live TV. Here’s everything we know about the highly-anticipated interview! To hear more about Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
So far, the closest thing we’ve gotten to a public statement from Perrie regarding her headline-making split is the single “I’m good” comment she offered up in an interview with E! News on Aug. 4. But according to a new report, the Little Mix beauty is fully expected to break her silence when her and her bandmates appear on James Corden’s, 36, Late Late Show on Aug. 18. The British host, who famously scored One Direction‘s first interview after Zayn quit, is expected to ask Perrie about the breakup when she appears on his couch later this month, as well as film a pre-recorded comedy sketch with the pop superstars that is likely to rival the boyband’s epic dodgeball video.
“James has got a way about him, a cheeky way, where he is able to coax gems of information out of people,” a television source told Mirror UK. “If anyone can get Perrie talking, it’s him. The girls are going on the show as part of their month long tour of America and by then Perrie will be in much cheerier spirits. She’s already getting her fight back, so this could be very feisty.” Go Perrie!
While the gorgeous blonde has kept mum about the demise of her relationship — which was said to have ended with a text message from Zayn — that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t subtly taken digs at her ex here and there. In a recent interview with Radio Disney, the singer and her band mates answered a question about their favorite tune at the moment. “I like One Direction‘s new song “Drag Me Down,”” Perrie innocently said. “It’s incredible.” It may seem like a simple answer, but many know that “Drag Me Down” is 1D’s first single without Zayn, which makes it a total snub. The 22-year-old has also deleted all of the former couple’s adorable photos from her social media accounts, which pretty much means that any hope we once had of these two reuniting is now officially crushed.
