You don’t want to wait for your life to be over to see a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ reunion — and now you don’t have to! Dawson and Pacey ran into each other at the CBS Stars Party in LA on August 10 . . . and Stephen Colbert was involved.
No love triangle drama here. James Van Der Beek, AKA Dawson Leery, reunited with his old on-screen BFF, Joshua Jackson (Pacey Witter) at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, while both promoting their new shows for the Television Critics Association press tour. And you guys, they posed for a photo together.
TV friendship can definitely translate in real life — and that’s what it did for James and Josh. James was promoting season two of his CBS show, CSI: Cyber, while Josh was there promoting season two of Showtime’s The Affair. Luckily, HollywoodLife.com was there at the TCA Party to see the two reunite — with the help of the new Late Show host, Stephen Colbert.
Dawson’s ran from 1998 to 2003, and yes, 12 years later, we’re still obsessed — and we’re definitely not the only ones. The writers of the show reunited in June at the ATX Television Panel, and admitted that they all disagreed on many things in the show — including who Joey ended up with in the end.
Paul Stupin wanted Joey and Dawson, and Kevin Williamson agreed — but then switched it halfway through the episode. “I always wanted this show to be sort of the twist on the teen drama. I wanted this show to be surprising and honest and real. And I also wanted to say something about soul mates. So I ultimately did it both ways,” he said, before adding that all three of them were soul mates. He also said his mother hates him for this choice.
Now we just need to get the cast together! Are you loving this as much as we are, HollywoodLifers?
