What exactly will we see on CBS’ ‘Supergirl?’ Well lucky for you, the cast and producers just sat down to answer every question — including what role Superman will play.
Melissa Benoist is the new Supergirl, and we can not wait to see her take on the world. However, we have to wonder if her cousin, Superman will show up in the new show. Well, the answer may surprise you. Plus, you’re going to want to see this new trailer!
Right before the panel began, we got a whole new look at Supergirl — including Melissa telling Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) her true identity. Trust me, you’ll want to see this one.
“He will be a factor in her life, but you won’t see him exactly on screen,” DC Comics CCO, Geoff Johns, said during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. “He’s gonna be more in the background. But he does play a part in her evolution of becoming a superhero.”
Executive Producer Ali Adler also added that the crew is very excited to focus on the point of view of Supergirl, not man. “As much as we respect the history of Superman, it’s very much her point of view,” she said.
New Characters Coming
As for what role her cousin will play, well it will be mostly in the background. During the panel, the producers also revealed that other comic book characters would be appearing — including Red Tornado and General Zod.
Additionally, CBS Entertainment Chair, Nina Tassler commented on the idea of crossovers between Supergirl and other DC Comics-based series, Arrow and The Flash. “We have not had conversations about crossovers” in terms of characters, “but we are doing crossover promotions. So you will see promotional crossovers.”
Supergirl premieres on CBS on Oct. 26 at 8:30 ET. Are you excited, HollywoodLifers?
