The drama continues on ‘Bachelor In Paradise!’ This week, Tenley finds herself caught in the middle of THREE guys, and Clare totally loses it in the middle of the rose ceremony. Will she stick it out…or leave the show?
It’s only week two, but there are already some broken hearts in paradise! While some relationships flourished, others fell apart before they even really began on Episode 4 of Bachelor In Paradise on Aug. 10. The tear were aplenty, and even though the girls were in power, Clare totally broke down and we’re left hanging about whether or not she’ll stay on the show. Read the full recap here!
The episode kicks off the morning after Jared gave Clare his date card, leading Ashley I. and Mikey to break down. Mikey thought he had a connection with Clare, so he’s still pissed that she accepted a date from Jared, and to deal with the situation, he decides to bad-mouth Clare to the rest of the guys…and try and turn his attention to another lady.
Ashley I. is just as angry because she was falling for Jared, and she takes a similar approach as Mikey by talking smack about him and Clare to the rest of the group. But her only argument seems to be Clare’s age (she’s only 34, for crying out loud!), and, really, Ashley just comes off as totally bitter.
Meanwhile, Clare and Jared’s adorable date takes place on a sailboat, and Clare is loving life with her Superman lookalike….until they pull up to a bungee jumping excursion! Clare is totally petrified, but with the help of a kiss from her man, she calms down and they make the jump together (complete with some terrifying screams. I will never un-hear those).
Back at the house, Juelia is still gushing over her date with Joe, but he is SO not as into it — and everyone else is starting to take notice. Joe is still holding out hope that Samantha from Chris’ season will show up, and even Juelia begins to recognize that he’s being standoffish toward her.
Tenley & The Boys
When Clare gets home from her date with Jared, she can’t stop gushing about their afternoon together to the other girls, and Ashley I. is SOOOOO over it. Cue the waterworks…AGAIN. But while Ashley can’t seem to secure herself one guy, Tenley is torn between JJ and Joshua — and then Michael, from Desiree’s season, shows up and immediately tells host Chris Harrison he’s hoping Tenley’s one of the ladies in paradise. Well it’s his lucky day!
Tenley accepts Michael’s offer for a date, and you can feel the tension as Josh and JJ learn the news. Don’t forget, in last night’s episode, Tenley went on a one-on-one with Josh, so she’s going to have to make a tough decision when it’s time to give out her rose.
After getting ditched by Clare, Mikey T. makes a move on Juelia, hoping he can persuade her to give her rose to him instead of Joe. Juelia isn’t opposed, but gets totally turned off when Mikey tries to make a move on her. Juelia doesn’t know that Joe’s not really that into her, and decides to focus her attention on him instead. Shut down!
A Romantic Evening & A Break-Up
On their romantic dinner date, Tenley and Michael share a meal and a super romantic kiss, and after some sweet-talking from the house’s newest addition, Tenley is totally drawn in and swept off her feet. Besides just a kiss, Tenley and Michael also have some great conversation and dance to a huge live band in their romantic date night setting, and they both seem to be having the time of their lives! Things are not looking good for Joshua and JJ at this point!
Back at the house, Clare and Jared reconnect, but it’s not a promising conversation for Clare. While she’s smitten with her date, Jared admits he doesn’t feel the “spark” and “butterflies,” and doesn’t fail to mention their eight-year age difference in the conversation. Looks like Mikey might want to try and swoop back in now, huh!?
Juelia Confronts Joe & Jonathan Cries
Before the rose ceremony, there’s only three guys who seem to feel really safe: Dan, who’s paired up with Ashley S., Kirk, who’s coupled up with Carly, and Tanner, who’s with Jade. But it doesn’t seem like Joe has to worry, either, because Juelia announces to the group that she plans on giving her rose to him — and everyone else is shocked/concerned, because they’re aware of how Joe really feels (read: uninterested). Jonathan expresses these concerns to Juelia, but since she knows Jonathan is interested in her, she’s only taking his advice with a grain of salt. Mikey T. comes forward next, giving Juelia a similar speech, and finally, she seems to start and realize what’s going on.
Juelia decides to confront Joe about what the guys have said, admitting to Joe that she noticed how standoffish he’d been. Joe is PISSED that the guys were trash talking him to Juelia, and tries to seal his fate with Juelia by making out with her on the spot. In his confessional, though, Joe admits he’s still only waiting around for Samantha. Watch out, Juelia!
Sticking up for Juelia, Mikey approaches Joe and calls him out for his shady behavior. But Joe goes on the defense and points out that, since he’s arrived, he hasn’t been going around pursuing multiple girls. Although the guys end their conversation in a handshake, Joe is still clearly very annoyed, and then takes it to the next level by confronting Jonathan about the same situation — and Jonathan actually apologizes to Joe! Joe uses this as an opportunity to look good in front of Juelia, and has Jonathan restate that apology in front of her face. How are they all falling for this s&#*!? Jonathan even starts HYSTERICALLY CRYING because he felt so bad for badmouthing Joe — WHAT?! Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Joe is STILL only hoping Samantha will show up.
Clare Breaks Down During Intense Rose Ceremony
Ashley finally takes a break from crying when Jared approaches her before the rose ceremony, and assures her that he had a good time on their date last week, even though he had a great time with Clare, too. He seals the deal for his rose with a kiss, leaving Clare sitting on the sidelines, mulling over who she wants to be with while everyone else seems to be paired off. Clare has a break down at the rose ceremony, and Jade calls her out for assuming none of the other contestants are on the show for the right reasons.
Finally, it’s rose time. Starting off predictable, Carly gives hers to Kirk, Ashley S. gives hers to Dan and Jade gives hers to Tanner. And now for some drama — Tenley decides to give HER rose to Joshua, despite the amazing date she had with Michael earlier in the episode! All the while, Clare is totally losing it, worrying about who she should give her rose to when she doesn’t feel a romantic connection to anyone — she even leaves the rose ceremony to cry!
And, after all that, the episode ends in a cliffhanger. Will Clare stick it out? What do you think, HollywoodLifers?
