Are the girls reuniting for another dose of Girl Power?! A new report claimed that the Spice Girls, sans Victoria Beckham, recently closed a deal for a 20th anniversary world tour, but is it really happening? The girls are weighing in!
Is our world about to become Spice World once again? A report circulated that four of the Spice Girls were reuniting for a 20th anniversary tour, causing every ’90s girl to officially freak out. Emma Bunton, 39, and Melanie Chisholm, 40, are speaking out about the exciting possibility! Plus, find out what Mel B, 40, told HollywoodLife.com about reunion plans on our podcast!
Mel C, Mel B, Emma and Geri Halliwell, 43, will reunite for a huge international tour, The Sun reported. The report claimed that the girls — known as Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby — made the decision in London in July. Posh Spice, a.k.a. Victoria Beckham, 41, reportedly said she was too busy for the alleged tour.
It didn’t take long for the news to spread around, and Emma spoke out about the rumors. “If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing’s happening at the moment,” she said on her Heart London breakfast radio show, according to The Guardian.
However, all hope is not lost. The girls didn’t totally dismiss the rumor and had some fun with the report on Twitter. Mel C tweeted on July 7, “Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!” Emma responded, “Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?” Mel B told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY on our podcast back in April 2015 that a reunion for their 20th anniversary was definitely on the table. “It’s our 20th anniversary next year , and if everything lines up, then we should be doing something,” she told us.
The girls have remained friends over the years, recently reuniting for David Beckham’s 40th birthday. The last time the Spice Girls were on stage together was at London’s closing ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
