Whoops! During an event before the Aug. 6 Republican Presidential debate, former Texas Governor Rick Perry made a huge blunder! Rick screwed up Ronald Reagan’s name and the Internet exploded with #RonaldRaven memes! Click to see!
Public speaking is hard, but when you’re running for President of the United States, you got to make sure your speech is on fleek. Rick Perry, 65, was more “on tweet” during an event before the first Republican Presidential debate. When answering a question, he confused former president Ronald Reagan with a big, black bird!
Unfortunately for Rick, he and six other candidates didn’t make the cut-off point for the Aug. 6 debate on Fox News, reports E! Online. He still had a chance to leave an impression with a pre-debate forum, and boy — did he ever! When fielding a question about immigration, Rick tried to namedrop Ronald Reagan but flubbed his name!
“‘What are you going to do about illegal immigration?’ For 30 years, this country has been baited with that. All the way back to when Ronald Raven signed a piece of legislation that basically allowed for amnesty for over 4 million people and the border is still not secure,” said Rick.
It’s okay to screw up your lines, so long as you own up to them. Plus, what Rick said wasn’t even the worst thing said that night — that “honor” could easily go to what came out of Donald Trump‘s mouth. However, Rick’s campaign has denied the screw-up. Uh-oh. The Internet clearly heard him go That’s So Raven during his answer and it responded with the international language of memes:

Rick just might not be that great at debating. During Rick’s 2012 presidential run, he made a huge mistake during the Republican primary debates, according to ABC News. In November 2011, Rick was asked which three federal agencies he would eliminate as president. He said he’d axe the Department of Commerce and Education. When pressed to name his third, he stalled before saying “The third agency of government I would do away with — the Education, uh, the uh, I — Commerce, and let’s see. I can’t. The third one, I can’t. Sorry. Oops.”
Ooops, indeed! What do you think about Rick Perry’s chances, HollywoodLifers? Will you now vote for “Ronald Raven” instead?
