We know you’ve been watching ‘Wet Hot American Summer’– and we know you’ve been cracking up at star George Dalton, who plays the all-important camp DJ and radio host, Arty. Here’s what you need to know about the star on the rise!
Born and raised in Tennessee, George Dalton knew that he wanted to be a performer at a young age. He starred in numerous theatrical productions throughout his elementary school career. He even wrote and directed a full length musical “I, Confess” at only eight years old. Before landing his breakout role as Arty in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp at the age of 10, George made his debut on the small screen with a guest role the hit CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls, and also recurred on Microchip Jones.
We got to chat with George about what it was like working on Wet Hot. “I had a really wonderful experience on the set of Wet Hot America Summer,” he said. “I loved the character Arty from the very first time I read the script. We are a lot alike in many ways! I tried to pay respect to Liam Norton version of the character and yet still make it my own.”
Outside of acting, George enjoys swimming, writing, and making YouTube videos for his personal channel, which he uses to document his life. One such video is his take on Fetty Wap‘s “Trap Queen.” Watch it below!
“My new video is out now on YouTube,” George said. “It’s a Jazz remake of Fetty Wap’s song called “Trap Queen”. I wanted to take a song and really try to make it my own. I loved the experience of being in the recording studio and hope to be back in soon recording my own material.”
