Poor Royalty. The tiny tot is only a year old and she’s getting involved in a crazy custody battle between Chris Brown and Nia Guzman. Chris’ family attorney told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the singer is doing everything he can to desperately protect his daughter from the fallout.
Chris Brown, 25, is trying to do everything he can to protect his sweet little Royalty, 1, from the potential backlash of the child custody battle. The singer’s family attorney talked to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about the current case between Chris and Nia Guzman, 31, and how the father of one is planning to protect his daughter.
The ongoing custody battle is currently being settled between Chris and Nia, but if it starts to get hostile, Chris and his family attorney are prepared to take it to court. “We’re always hoping for an amicable outcome that can be resolved by both parents,” John “Bo” Nichols, Chris’ family law attorney tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I think it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep this case out of the media and therefore, I’m refusing to discuss the specific allegations made and the detailed facts of the case. It’s just in the child’s best interest that it happens this way. But if it can’t, then that’s what the courts are for.” For the sake of Royalty, let’s hope both parties can settle their disputes appropriately.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. Nia allegedly filed for full custody of the adorable toddler, which means she’s trying to prevent Chris from being involved in Royalty’s life. “It’s a tragedy when children are used as pawns in a lawsuit,” John “Bo” Nichols, Chris’ family law attorney, tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “In order to get one thing, people barter with something else — a child, for instance. We have a 1-year-old we’re trying to protect, and we want her to have consistent and systematic contact with both her parents.” It would definitely be tragic if Royalty couldn’t spend time with her father. Chris has been doing everything he can to be a responsible father.
Chris Calls Out Nia For Using Royalty As A Meal Ticket
It’s clear the singer is frustrated with his daughter’s mother. Chris had a venting session on Twitter late at night on Aug. 6. The singer said that unlike some men his age, he’s actually embracing his fatherhood. “Some men my age run from their responsibility as fathers. I embrace mine. Just sucks that some females use children as meal tickets,” Chris tweeted. He followed up that message with, “Using a child as leverage is never ok. The highest praise to the men who actually want their kids.” Hopefully this whole custody battle works out for both parties involved, especially Royalty.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will Chris be able to protect Royalty from the outcome of the custody battle?
