This is too funny! Ice Cube paid a visit to ‘The Tonight Show’ on Aug. 5, where he and Jimmy Fallon discussed what the name of his former group N.W.A. stood for. In the end the two decided to steer clear of controversy listing a whole number of things it doesn’t mean! See the priceless video below!
Ice Cube, 46, and Jimmy Fallon, 40, are both hilarious guys, but put them both in the same video and just try to not laugh! The rapper produced an autobiographical film about his rap group from the late ’80s, N.W.A, called Straight Outta Compton, and in support of the film, Jimmy thought it would be a great idea to reveal what the group’s acronym name stands for. Apparently it isn’t a national-television-friendly name, so as an alternative, Ice Cube and Jimmy told us everything it doesn’t signify. And believe us, there’s some pretty ridiculous options!
You probably wouldn’t think that “Nine White Accountants” is the name of a rap group. Well, you’re right! That’s one of the hilarious things Ice Cube said N.W.A didn’t stand for — phew, that’d be just plain strange! With a pretty serious face and some dark shades to hide his eyes, Ice Cube and Jimmy listed the rest of the silly false names including “No Way, Ashley” and “Nickelback Was Awesome.” Okay seriously, who came up with these?! Hear the rest of them below!
Whether you know real name of the group or not, you have to be excited that the group is thinking about reuniting for a tour. Because one of the original members, Easy E, passed away in 1995, the group needs someone to fill his spot — and it could be Eminem! Unfortunately for U.S. fans, the tour would take place in Europe. But how cool would it be to see Eminem, 42, take the stage with Ice Cube, DJ Yella, 47, and MC Ren, 46?! Maybe if Jimmy can somehow get in on this tour, he’ll find out the true meaning of N.W.A. While Jimmy investigates further, we’re perfectly content with watching this video on repeat!
Which name do YOU think is funniest, HollywoodLifers?
