Tennessee Movie Theater Shooting — One Dead, Three Injured

These shootings have got to stop! Another person opened fire inside a movie theater on August 5 in Tennessee — the shooter is dead and four people are reportedly injured. We have all of the up to date details on this scary situation.

Police were called to Carmike 8 Cinemas, which is southeast of Nashville, around 1:15 pm. Everybody in the theater was evacuated immediately and according to one report, a witness on the scene said they saw one person covered in blood. Find out more.

UPDATE: Metro Police are reporting the shooter, identified as 51-year-old white male, was shot dead by the SWAT team. One person besides the shooter is injured, according to CNN. It seems as if the shooter injured the victim with a hatchet. 3 others suffered minor injuries from pepper spray.

The Nashville Fire Department confirmed to WSMV that shots were fired at Carmike 8 Cinemas in Antioch, southeast of Nashville. Police have instructed nearly businesses to lock their doors as the situation develops, according to CNN. The Ford Ice Center and the Global Mall, which is near the theater, has been placed on lock down, according to WSMV.
