Kate Mara looked gorgeous and glowing at the New York City premiere for her movie ‘Fantastic 4’ on August 4. Her hair and makeup team is spilling their tricks of the trade!
Kate Mara‘s skin is so good, she only wore CC cream on the red carpet! It looked extra flawless along with her perfect pixie at the premiere — find out the details of her beauty look below!
Mara Roszak, L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hairstylist, told HollywoodLife.com: “This look was inspired by her Valentino black leather dress and the new pixie haircut that I gave Kate. We decided to go for a slight 90’s inspiration with texture and pieciness.”
“Step 1: To begin, on Kate’s damp hair, I applied L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse ($4.99) and rough dried into her hair.
Step 2: Using my GHD 1/2″ flat iron, I took random sections of the hair and gently curved the flat iron giving it slight body at the crown and hairline.
Step 3: I then applied L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Txt It Hyper-Fix Putty ($4.99) to my fingertips and pieced out sections creating dimension and separation.
Step 4: To finish off the look, I sprayed L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist ($6.99) for added shine and L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray ($14.99) all over to hold the look.”

Celebrity makeup artist Coleen Campbell-Olwell told us: “With Kates’s newly cropped pixie cut and black Valentino dress, we wanted the skin and lips to be the focus for tonight’s look.”
“To get her skin glowing for the red carpet, I tapped on Kate Somerville Quench Oil Free Hydrating Face Serum — it’s super lightweight and gives skin a dose of extra hydration. I then massaged in Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream to moisturize. Next I applied Kate Somerville IllumiKate CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 50 in LIGHT to even out her skin tone. I love this CC cream because it brightens and it has SPF 50 protection.
To emphasize Kate’s cheekbones, I dotted on Smashbox Contour Stick in “Contour” just below her cheeks then I swirled on Lancome Blush Subtil Pallette in Ménage a Trois Flush onto the apples of her cheeks and then dotted on Armani Fluid Sheer in #2 along the top of her cheekbones to highlight, blending out with my finger.
I filled her Kate’s brows to create a nice shape. I complemented her warm brown eyes using Diorshow Fusion Mono in Millenium (a green shimmer) and brown copper shades by Diorshow Fusion Mono in Meteore. I lined the waterline with Sephora waterproof contour eye pencil in Cocoa and then smudged Sephora waterproof contour eye pencil in Go For A Ride along the top lash line and smudged it with a small eye shadow brush. I brushed on two coats of black mascara to lengthen and thicken her lashes.
To complete Kates look, we chose a deep berry lip color in Make Up For Ever Desire then I lined her lips with MAC Mahogany lip liner to add warmth and depth.”
