Hey Upper East Siders, are you ready for Chuck and Nate back together? Well, the real life BFFs actually have shows coming out on ABC so they reunited at the Television Critics Association August 5, and basically, these photos will make you seriously swoon.
You know you love them, HollywoodLifers. Both Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford have joined new ABC dramas, so does that mean there’s actually a possibility of having a Gossip Girl reunion of some sorts? Well, don’t count it out.
“We should do a crossover episode,” Ed told E! News at TCA in Beverly Hills. “It’s great, we’re great friends. They’re all like family to me. I’m very, very happy for [Chace].” Ed is currently starring in a new terrifying drama, Wicked City, where he plays Kent, a serial killer on Sunset Strip in the ’80s — definitely a stretch from his role of Chuck Bass.
“But over the course of the six seasons we did at Gossip Girl, it was revealed that he wasn’t [a sociopath],” he said. “He was a young man who knew how to manipulate people, could be very charming and use that to his advantage a lot, and yet you could say that Kent, my character on Wicked City, is charming and uses that to manipulate people, albeit to a different end.” As for his role on GG, he said Chuck was more “misguided, misled, [and] sweet.”
As for Chace, he’s starring in another ABC drama, Blood & Oil, in a role much different that Nate Archibald. He and his new wife (Rebecca Rittenhouse) move to “The Bakken” in North Dakota to find work in the area with the largest oil discovery– but he ends up going up against Don Johnson‘s character. We have a feeling there’s totally room for an appearance of his long lost BFF in there somewhere. I mean, he’s Chuck Bass.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you want the guys to do a crossover? Let us know.
