Bobby Brown is extremely guilt-ridden, following Bobbi Kristina’s death. He believes that if he made her go to rehab and became her guardian — like Britney Spears’ father did to save her — Krissy would still be alive, according to a new report. How heartbreaking.
Bobby Brown is beating himself up over Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s death, a new report claims. The “My Prerogative” singer is allegedly telling those closest to him that he should have forced her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, to move out of her house and leave her alone. He also allegedly believes that if he had forced Bobbi Kristina into rehab and became her guardian, she may be alive today.
“Bobby has so much guilt that it is eating him up every day,” a close family friend told Daily Mail Online. “He told me he should have insisted Krissy get help for her drug addiction and he should have forced Nick Gordon to move out of her townhouse and leave her alone — legally, if necessary.”
“Bobby is inconsolable,” a Brown family friend also told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He’s really beating himself up. He knew she was struggling in life. He knew she struggled with addiction and he knew Nick was a bad guy. He feels like he should have stepped in and done more. Yes, he voiced his concerns to Krissy, but he should have done more. He should have gone to her and gotten her into rehab and away from Nick. He just can’t shake the feeling he should have protected her from all of this.”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Bobbi Kristina, who struggled with drug use, was found unconscious in the bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia house on January 31. After being in a medically-induced coma for five months, she was moved to Peachtree Christian Hospice in Atlanta, where she died on July 26.
“Bobby says he was her father no matter what age she was and he should have fought her or anyone else who stopped her from saving her from herself,” the source further told Daily Mail Online. “Bobby told me, ‘I should have gone to court to get a judge to make Bobbi Kristina go to rehab and then become her guardian — like Britney Spears‘ father did to save her.'”
As you’ll recall, Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, was granted personal and financial conservatorship of his daughter in 2008, after she publicly shaved her head and assaulted the paparazzi. Jamie and his ex-wife, Lynne Spears, were worried about their daughter and jumped in to save her. The conservatorship is still in place today — it will actually last a lifetime, according to TMZ — and Britney is doing very well.
“[Bobby] realizes now how much Bobbi Kristina needed him. Krissi was an adult, but she clearly needed a dad who cared enough to tell her when she was wrong, and wouldn’t back down just because she got angry. Bobby failed Bobbi Kristina but he vows to never fail his kids again,” the source also told Daily Mail Online.
Bobby Brown has five other children from three different women. His latest child, daughter Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown, was born July 9, 2015.
