Perrie Edwards, of course you’re devastated after Zayn Malik broke off your nearly 2-year engagement. But dry your eyes, Perrie — you’ll find a more perfect love. Marrying Zayn would have been a disaster.
Perrie Edwards, you may feel like the world has just ended since Zayn Malik, 22, pulled the plug on your engagement. But every woman who’s been through a devastating split can assure you that there is life after being dumped. In fact, you will have a happy love life even after losing the man who you thought was The One.. and Only. Perrie, you are just 22 and you were very young to be making a commitment of a lifetime.
So was Zayn, who was also under so much pressure as the lead singer of hugely popular One Direction, and who had millions of ardent fans. These weren’t the best of circumstances under which to be starting a life together. Even though you two must have felt wildly in love when Zayn proposed in 2013, you were facing long odds. It’s rare for people who are in their very early twenties when they get engaged to have a long-lasting marriage.
You’re simply too young to have fully developed as individuals and to really know what your life goals are. When you’re both still growing up, it’s easy to grow apart from the person that you thought you would love for life. And when you’re separated for long periods of time due to career commitments AND you’re both under the microscope, in the public eye, it would put incredible stress on even the most mature and longterm relationships.
In your case, Zayn, was clearly troubled when he was a member of One Direction. He wanted to break free and start his own solo career. He was also photographed looking very friendly with other girls, so he was already having a tough time being fully committed to your relationship. Now, he ended your engagement after you pushed to set a wedding date, and your world has come crashing down. “She’s been putting on a brave face as Little Mix [your band] have had promotion to do, but she’s obviously devastated,” a source told People magazine.
Perrie Edwards: You’ll Find Love Again After Zayn Malik
Perrie — I’m sure that Zayn loved you, but he simply wasn’t ready to make a lifetime commitment. “She started pressing him to set a wedding date. She pushed and pushed and finally Zayn told her he didn’t want to get married,” a source close to the former couple told HollywoodLife.com. Apparently, between your touring with Little Mix and Zayn trying to kickstart his new solo career, you two had barely been seeing each other and you hadn’t even had sex in two months, the insider revealed.
Perrie, you may be heartbroken right now, but I guarantee you that life will get better. Your pain will gradually ease and one day you will meet someone else who will make your heart soar even more than it did with Zayn. Need proof? Look no further than Taylor Swift, who not so long ago thought she might never date again. She focused on her friends, her cats and career and somehow love — in the form of Calvin Harris — came calling when she least expected it and she’s happier than ever.
It’s time to put Zayn in your rearview mirror and don’t look back. Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Should Perrie dry her tears and resolve to move on from Zayn Malik? Let me know.
