Blake Shelton Sips Vodka During First Post-Divorce Interview — ‘It’s Been One Of Those Weeks’

Blake Shelton isn’t letting his split from Miranda Lambert affect his work! In fact, in the days after the pair finalized their divorce, the country star was back on set of ‘The Voice’ and doing interviews. But he needed a little liquid courage to calm his nerves!

“A little vodka” never hurt anyone, right?! Just two days after Blake Shelton, 39, and Miranda Lambert, 32, announced they were divorcing, the “Sangria” singer was hard at work promoting The Voice, and his first post-split interview was finally released on Aug. 3. But Blake admittedly needed some alcohol to help him get through it! To hear more about Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!

“I thought I’d go ahead and get started,” the 39-year-old told Entertainment Tonight, while sipping his vodka. “It’s been one of those weeks.” That was all Blake said regarding his tough situation on-camera, but off-camera, when asked how he was doing, he reportedly responded, quite cheerfully, “Well, I got divorced.” At least he’s keeping some humor about it!

Still, Blake seemed a bit uncomfortable throughout the clip, during which he discusses the upcoming season of The Voice, and he could constantly be seen fiddling with his left ring finger — must be feeling pretty empty without the ring! “I want to win this thing every season,” he gushed, of his role as a coach on the singing competition show. “And I want it for my kids that are on my team.”

Blake and Miranda announced they were divorcing after four years of marriage on July 20. Just hours after they released their statement, the split was made official when a judge signed off on their divorce papers. Luckily, Blake was able to throw himself into work as rumors about what caused the break up began to surface online and in the magazines.

“He’s been completely professional,” an insider from The Voice told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Blake is a happy guy and he refuses to pull people down to be in a bad mood. He doesn’t want people to feel bad for him and he is the same old Blake on set. He’s super cool and nice and his emotions are completely on check at work.”

Tell us, HollywoodLifers: Do you think Blake should drink vodka while working?
