Sounds like Ronda Rousey may need to suit up for another match! U.S. Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones weighed in on the UFC fighter’s impressive fight on August 1 and bets she can last in the ring for more than 34 seconds! Is that a challenge, Lolo?
After seeing how Ronda Rousey, 28, handled herself at UFC 190 on August 1, you would think people would shy away from challenging her, but not Lolo Jones, 32! In fact, the track and field star thinks she can last much longer in the cage against Ronda than Bethe Correia, 32 did. Lolo’s strategy to outlast Bethe is actually pretty impressive.
The 32-year-old is known for her speed and she’s pretty sure her agility will keep her conscious in the ring against Ronda for at least a minute! “How much are these chicks paid to get knocked out in seconds? I can’t fight but I’ll prolong it and run circles for least a minute #UFC190,” Lolo said on her Facebook page soon after Ronda knocked out Bethe after 34 exciting seconds. Wait, was that a challenge from the track and field athlete? While it sounded like Lolo wanted to get in the cage against one of UFC’s biggest stars, she was actually just joking around.
After that status update, the Louisiana native had to explain to many of her fans on Facebook that she was in no way trying to challenge Ronda to a match. What started out as a joke turned into people attacking the track and field star on her social media profile. “Funny how me just trying to cheer you guys on with laughs turns into attacks on my career,” she commented underneath her status. Yikes, Lolo was just trying to make a joke out of the situation! No one was trying to downplay how extraordinary Ronda’s match against Bethe was!
Ronda Already Knows Who She Wants Her Next Challenger To Be
Before Ronda got into the UFC cage with Bethe, she revealed her big plans for the UFC 190 fight and who she’s going to take down next. “I’m going to beat up Bethe, then I’m going to take a couple of weeks to rest, and then I’m going to go beat up Miesha [Tate],” she told Fox Sports. “And then I’m going to go to Thailand or wherever we decide to film and prep for a month, and then start filming for like eight to 10 weeks, and then go beat up the next chick.” Ronda has a solid plan in place, Lolo should be thankful she’s not on that list!
HollywoodLifers, did you think Lolo was challenging Ronda or was she just being silly?
