Sadly, Jon Stewart’s ‘Daily Show’ is coming to an end this week– but he sure is going out with a bang! Here’s what you can expect in his final week of shows!
Jon Stewart, 52, will sign off from Comedy Central’s The Daily Show for good on Aug. 6, making way for new host Trevor Noah, . who will take over on Sept. 28. After a whopping 18 seasons of hilarious political and social commentary, Jon is making sure that his very last episodes will celebrate his incredible run. A few of the final guests have already been announced (including Amy Schumer!) while some mysteries still remain. We’ve compiled everything we know so far about the last four episodes, as well as what’s still being kept heavily under wraps!
Still to be announced, though, is Thursday night’s guest (or likely guests), which is not surprising considering it’s the very last show. The episode, which will begin at 11 pm, will also run 52 minutes in length, a full 22 longer than the usual half hour, leaving plenty of room for hijinks and surprises. The final episode will also be preceded by a Daily Show marathon, which will run all day on Aug. 6, leading up to the big finale.
Over the course of his run, Jon has had basically everyone imaginable on as his guest, from President Barak Obama (who actually issued an executive order that Jon was not allowed to retire!) to George Clooney, so it’s safe to say that anyone could drop by during Thursday’s final segment. After all, during his final show in December, Stephen Colbert enlisted James Franco, Andy Cohen, Sonia Sotomayor, Barry Manilow, and even Big Bird, so we can only imagine how Jon will try and top him!
What do you think of the guests whom have already been announced for Jon’s final Daily Show episodes? Do you plan to keep watching the show when Trevor takes over?
