Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family and friends paid their respects to the late 22-year-old on Aug. 1 at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Get all the details on her funeral.
Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s funeral took place on Aug. 1, and it was a very sad day as everyone said their last goodbyes. Bobbi’s father, Bobby Brown, 46, her aunt Pat Houston, 55, and celebs like Tyler Perry, 45, were all in attendance as fans lined the streets with flowers and signs. Bobbi’s hearse arrived with her casket to St. James United Methodist Church before the 11 a.m. service.
Bobby, his wife Alicia, Pat and more members of the Houston family arrived in black limos at 10:15 a.m., Us Weekly reports. Mayor Kasim Reed made his entrance into the church at 10:45 a.m. “The whole family looked grief stricken as they arrived,” an eyewitness told the outlet. Reverend Michael McQueen, the senior pastor at the church, led the service with prayers from the Bible. The service was followed by tributes and a eulogy, according to Daily Mail.
Roads six blocks in each direction were closed to ensure privacy for the family. Police checked IDs and credentials at the scene. Fans lined up outside the church holding up signs. Nick Gordon, 25, was not in attendance. He is currently a suspect in a criminal investigation and has been living in Florida with his mother.
Bobby’s sister and Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Leolah Brown, was reportedly kicked out of the funeral after she started screaming at Pat during the service. “Pat you know you are wrong for this!” she reportedly said during the outburst.
Bobbi’s family decided to make her Georgia funeral a Sweet 16-themed party since Bobbi reportedly never had one. Although it was six years ago, Pat was reportedly the one who spearheaded the idea. Bobbi Kristina’s burial service will be held on Aug. 3 in New Jersey, where she’ll be buried beside her mother, Whitney Houston, who died in 2012.
“All the preparations are underway to get Bobbi Kristina to New Jersey where she will be buried next to her mom Whitney. Some of Whitney’s old bodyguards have flown into Atlanta to help with transporting her body to Jersey,” our insider explains.
Bobby released the following statement on July 26, the day Bobbi Kristina died: “Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”
