One Direction left their fans in shock after dropping their new single, ‘Drag Me Down,’ on July 31 without any warning at all. After the surprise release, fans collectively went nuts on Twitter.
July 31 is a special day for One Direction fans everywhere. The core four — Harry Styles, 21, Niall Horan, 21, Louis Tomlinson, 23, and 21-year-old Liam Payne — caught us all by surprise and dropped their first single for their new album, their first without Zayn Malik, 22. “Drag Me Down” is a total jam, and Directioners are going absolutely wild for the song on Twitter. Fans just can’t help but show how proud they are of the boys!
Excuse us, we just need a minute to breathe after listening to “Drag Me Down” on repeat. Out of nowhere, the boys released the new song, showcasing their all-new sound. Honestly, they sound amazing. It’s been a rough year for the boys — Zayn quitting the band in March 2015 after five years was heartbreaking for everyone. To show their support for their first official song as a group of four, the boys hit Twitter to connect with fans. Louis tweeted: “Thank you for all your constant support. Hopefully you love it , we’re proud of it :)” Niall also tweeted, “Finally we get to say this ! have waited a long time but our new single Drag Me Down is out !!!” One Direction fans quickly fell in love with the song, and they’re pretty much making Twitter explode with their feelings. One Direction dropped their song two days after it was announced that Zayn was signing a new record deal with RCA. He tweeted on July 29: “I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am!
#realmusic #RCA !!” This is a major step in Zayn’s solo career.
